The College of Dental Hygienists of Nova Scotia (CDHNS) manages complaints, investigations and hearing processes in accordance with the Dental Hygienists Act, Regulation, other applicable legislation and policies. A complaint concerning the professional conduct of a registered and licensed member of the CDHNS may come from a member of the public, an employer, another health professional, another college and members of the CDHNS. The registrar may refer a complaint on behalf of the College.

Licensed members include those on the general register and those on the provisional register of the CDHNS. A complaint maybe made against a former registrant provided the complaint is made within two years of the date the individual ceased to be a licensed member of the College.

Reciept of Complaints

Professional Conduct Complaints submitted to the Director of Complaints must:

  • Be in writing
  • Name of the Regulated Member
  • Be signed by the person filing the complaint
